15 Gospel Ministry Requires Perseverance

Colossians 4:15-18
Give my greetings to the brothers at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house. 
And when this letter has been read among you, have it also read in the church of the Laodiceans; and see that you also read the letter from Laodicea. And say to Archippus, “See that you fulfill the ministry that you have received in the Lord.”
I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. Remember my chains. Grace be with you

1. A Call to Archippus
a.  ”But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” (Matt. 24:13, ESV)
b.  “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap,
if we do not give up.”  (Gal. 6:9, ESV)

3. The Church’s Responsibility
a.  When someone grows weary, the church must lift them up.
b.  When a leader falters, the church must speak courage into their calling.
c.  When a member drifts, the church must lovingly call them back.

Hebrews 10:24–25 (ESV): ”Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together…but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

4. The Necessity of Grace
Philippians 1:6 (ESV): “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

Conclusion
Colossians closes with names, not abstract concepts, because the gospel is lived out in real fellowship.
