The first one to whom we must turn in such times is God.
1. Pray without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:17).
The reason why things go wrong is not because of politicians, but because we don’t pray
(Phil. 4:6, 1 Tim. 2 2:1-4).
How must we pray? The Lord’s Prayer.
2. Read God’s Word
Where do you go to find a World and Life View?
a. Who am I and how did I get here?
b. What went wrong?
c. How do we fix it?
We find the answer in the Christian World and Life View – in the Bible:
Creation, Fall and Redemption.
Reasons to read the Bible (Heb. 4:12, John 15:7).
3. Abide in Christ
John 15:4-7:
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
If anyone does not abide in Me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in Me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
4. Yield to God’s Law
Give to God and your fellow human beings what is due to them – love.
(Ps. 119:10-11, Psalm 1, John 14:15, Mat 22:36-40)
5. Expect the Lord
What are you yearning for? Do you long for the Lord’s presence?
You need to expect the Lord, for He is coming (Rev. 3:11).
6. Rejoice in God
When?
Phil. 4:4: “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.”
