Romans 6 v 1 – 3
1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? (ESV)
This is the doctrine of union with Christ, baptized into His death – not water baptism, but by the Holy Spirit. Believers are no more in Adam, but in Christ – a deep, intimate union, which is much more than a sign.
If not water baptism, then what kind of baptism is Paul speaking about here?
1 Cor. 12:13 – “For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body–Jews or Greeks, slaves or free–and all were made to drink of one Spirit.”
The Holy Spirit baptizes believers into the body of Christ.
You are either in Adam (lost) or in Christ (redeemed).
