Genesis 8v1
But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided. (ESV)
We see the mind of God launching the majesty of God to land the people that He saved on the mountain of God. Just as Calvary was God’s mountain, so was Ararat – a place of rest and refuge.
How does your mind compare to the Mind and Mercy of God?
- The Wonder of His Mind:
Seen in three words: But God remembered.
God remembers His people (9v15). If He remembered His covenant with Noah He will remember His covenant with us (see Ex. 2:24, Ps. 98:3, Is. 49:15-16, Jer. 29:11-12, Mal. 3:16, Deut. 7:9, Ps. 86:15, Lam. 3, 1 Cor. 1:9, 2 Tim. 2:13, Heb. 10v23 ). God will never forget us and will not forget the body of His Son. Forgetting us for God would be like forgetting His Son, because believers are part of His body. - The Wind of His Mercy:
It’s the wind of His mercy that pushed back the waters of His wrath. We need the wind of God’s mercy to dispel the waters of His wrath all around us. See Ps. 103:8, Ps. 145:8, Lam. 3:22-23, Eph. 2:4-5, Titus 3:5, 1 Peter 1:3, Ps. 51:1.
God’s means for salvation is the Church. You need to be in God’s means, have His mind, be in His mercy, on the way to God’s mountain (Zion) and on His mission (go into all the world and preach the Gospel – Mat. 28:19).
